Recycling and recovery of waste (operation of treatment units)

Comprehensive expertise serving the circular economy

For Energipole, waste recovery is much more than a vocation: it is a fundamental pillar of our environmental commitment. Thanks to the expertise of our various subsidiaries, we are able to handle all types of waste and transform it into resources.

Our specialised subsidiaries – Ecodec, AER, Energipole Recycling, Energiserv, Energipole Espérance, Energipole Verde, and Energipole Solutions work together on a daily basis to ensure innovative and efficient management.

Types of waste treated and recovered

Recyclable household waste

Cardboard, paper, plastics or metals from separate collections (yellow bins, voluntary drop-off points) are sorted in efficient industrial centres.
📍Ecodec (Guadeloupe)

Example

untreated wood is recovered locally in the form of mulching under the GwadaBois brand.

Industrial and professional waste (NHIW)

Waste generated by businesses, tradespeople or construction sites: plastics, cardboard, wood, metals, rubble, etc. It is sorted at source, grouped and recovered according to its nature.

📍 Ecodec (Guadeloupe),  Energipole Recycling (Var)

3,000 tonnes/year

Pastic waste

Films, packaging, rigid or technical plastics are sorted according to their composition, then directed towards material recovery or processing channels.

📍 Ecodec (Guadeloupe),Energipole Recycling (Var)

WEEE – Waste electrical and electronic equipment

Fridges, hot water tanks, air conditioning units, washing machines, screens, small appliances, etc. They are depolluted and recycled to allow the recovery of their components (metals, plastics, glass).
📍 AER (Guadeloupe), Energipole Recycling (Var)

Equipment and furniture waste (EFW)

Energipole Esperance works with eco-organisations to recycle and recover end-of-life furniture waste.

📍 Energipole Espérance (Guadeloupe)

End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV)

Cars, two-wheelers and light commercial vehicles at the end of their life are depolluted, dismantled and recovered in accordance with environmental standards.

📍 AER (Guadeloupe), Energipole Recycling (Var)

Household glass

Bottles, jars and flasks are recycled locally into sand or glass gravel, used for construction or landscaping.

📍 AER (Guadeloupe)

Example

product showcased under the GwadaGlass brand.

Used tyres

The tyres are recycled to produce flexible fitting materials, such as stabilising slabs.

📍Ecodec (Guadeloupe)

Example

local transformation under the GwadaPark brand.

Organic waste and biowaste

Green waste, vinasses, sludge, food leftovers, etc. They are composted on an industrial scale to produce a high-quality local organic amendment in Guadeloupe. Energipole Solutions offers methanisation solutions, a technology that makes it possible to produce biogas from organic waste.

📍 Energipole Verde (Guadeloupe), Energipole Solutions (Paris)

Residual household waste

Residual household waste sorted in high-performance industrial centres.

📍Energipole Solutions (Paris)

Ferrous and non-ferrous metals

Copper, aluminium, brass, stainless steel, motors, radiators, scrap metal, etc. These metals are collected, weighed, purchased, sorted, treated (shears, shredders, etc.) and directed towards the material recycling/recovery sectors.

📍 Energipole Recycling (Var), AER (Guadeloupe)

Service open to individuals and professionals, with purchase at market price.

Ships at end of life

Sailboats, motor boats, jet skis and professional vessels are depolluted, dismantled and recycled.

📍 Energipole Recycling (Var)

APER Approved Sector (free of charge for recreational boats).

Construction waste

Soil, aggregates, ballast, wood, slag, industrial by-products, etc. Energiserv and Energipole Remédiation offer screening, crushing, sorting and mechanical preparation solutions on their sites or on construction sites with a view to upgrading materials and saving natural resources.

📍 Energiserv (Mondelange and Soissons), Energipole Remédiation (Santes and Eppeville)

Services on operating sites, quarries, slag heaps or construction sites.

Non-hazardous final waste

Waste that is not currently recyclable is treated by secure storage in authorised facilities with energy recovery.

📍 Energipole Espérance (Guadeloupe)

Biogas transformed into electricity (8,420 MWh/year).

Operation of processing units

To recycle all this waste, this is where Energipole Solutions comes into play; it operates several centres on behalf of local authorities and industrial partners:

  • Sorting centres, composting platforms, recovery units
  • Installation of robotic sorting lines for biowaste
  • Design of anaerobic digestion units
  • Technical management, regulatory compliance, performance monitoring
