Sale agreement signed: Energipole Développement takes over the Eppeville site

15 May 2025

A site rich in history

Established in Eppeville since 1922, the former sugar factory was once a pillar of the French sugar industry.
Today, Saint Louis Sucre continues activities related to receiving, storing and shipping sugar on part of the site, while a new chapter begins for the 184 hectares covered by the sale agreement signed with Energipole Développement Eppeville.

This acquisition marks a decisive step in the site’s transformation, a symbol of the industrial and energy transition underway in the region.

An ambitious project: the energy-based industrial village

Demolition and deconstruction works are nearing completion, paving the way for a major redevelopment initiative: the creation of an energy-focused industrial village.

The objectives are clear:
➡️ Transform the site into a hub for industry, agri-food activities and renewable energy
➡️ Make Eppeville a model of innovation, sustainability and local job creation

This initiative is fully aligned with Energipole Développement’s strategy to revitalise industrial brownfields and accelerate the energy transition in local territories.

Collective support for regional success

The success of this project relies on the active engagement and shared commitment of several institutional partners, including:

  • the Prefecture and Sub-Prefecture
  • the Communauté de Communes de l’Est de la Somme (CCES)
  • the mayors of Eppeville, Ham and Hombleux

Their collaboration alongside Energipole is key to revitalising the site and ensuring a shared success for the region.

A team effort at the heart of the project

This milestone is the result of strong teamwork and perseverance.
A special thank you to Jean-Marie Debert, Managing Director in charge of the project, for his determination and continuous commitment since the beginning of this journey.

The transition is underway… and the next steps promise to be inspiring!
