An important milestone has just been reached with the arrival of the first wood loading train at our site in Illange.
This operation serves a dual strategic purpose:
✅ To accelerate the energy transition by ensuring the delivery of wood intended for the production of panels and pellets.
✅ To reduce the carbon footprint of logistics flows through a shift to rail transport, thereby limiting reliance on road transport along major routes.
📊 One single train is equivalent to 21 lorries taken off the roads.
This first successful test marks the beginning of a new logistical organisation: a second train is already expected as early as next week, with the aim of ultimately achieving a rhythm of 1 to 2 trains per week.
This success is above all the result of exemplary coordination among all the stakeholders and partners involved in the project. A concrete demonstration of what cooperation, expertise, and collective commitment can achieve in the service of more sustainable logistics.
