AER, a model of regional cooperation and recycling in the Caribbean-Guyana

28 October 2026

A beautiful recognition for AER (Antilles Environnement Recyclage), a subsidiary of Energipole Antilles, honoured in the proceedings of the XVIII Regional Cooperation Conference for the Antilles and Guyana, held in Martinique in July 2026.

♻️ A model that proves its worth!

Based in Guadeloupe, AER manages the treatment and recycling of waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) originating from four territories: Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, and Saint-Martin, representing a population of nearly one million inhabitants.

This strategy of streamlining waste flows, coordinated by the eco-organisms (Ecologic and Ecosystem), known as waste massification, enables the establishment of an efficient treatment facility serving multiple territories.

And the results are in:

✅ Guadeloupe boasts the highest collection rate of WEEE among the overseas territories.

✅ For several years now, it has even collected more WEEE per capita than mainland France!

In the conclusions of the conference alongside the Region and ADEME, AER is cited as a concrete example of public-private cooperation and an inspiring economic model for the development of new recycling sectors in the region.

A recognition that highlights our expertise, our local roots, and the daily commitment of our teams.

👏 Well done to the AER staff and all the partners who contribute to this collective success!
