Energiserv Belval has invested nearly €12 million to reorganise and reconfigure the yards entrusted to it under the finished products yard management and outbound logistics contract on the ArcelorMittal Belval site in Luxembourg, launched in July 2019.
This investment also includes the design and commissioning of two rubber-tyred gantry cranes and a rail-mounted gantry crane specifically engineered for handling sheet piles. With a 44-metre span and standing 18 metres high, the latest rail-mounted gantry tower dominates the site. A true structural powerhouse weighing 170 tonnes, it offers a 24-tonne lifting capacity using a spreader beam. The crane allows trucks to be loaded in a single movement and can be operated either from a cabin or remotely via radio control.
A second rail-mounted gantry crane will be delivered by summer 2021. With these new facilities, Energiserv Belval continues to deploy “no-touch” handling systems, enhancing both safety performance and operational productivity to serve its client.
