Successful remediation on a former industrial site in Hautmont
Energipole Remediation was commissioned by the Hauts-de-France Public Land Authority (EPF) to intervene on a former industrial brownfield site in Hautmont, as part of its future development programme.
Objective: address a concentrated cyanide source in the site’s soils, ensuring a fast, safe and compliant intervention aligned with environmental standards.
A technical operation completed in just 4 weeks
In only four weeks, Energipole Remediation’s teams successfully met the challenge:
✅ Management of a reinforced concrete pit and foundations linked to former industrial facilities
✅ Pumping and on-site treatment of impacted groundwater
✅ Selective excavation of contaminated soils and off-site removal according to material quality
✅ Soil quality monitoring under the supervision of a certified contaminated land consultant
✅ Backfilling of excavations with materials supplied by EPF Hauts-de-France
Thanks to a rigorous methodology, the team reduced the volume of contaminated soil removed by nearly 50%compared with initial estimates — delivering both environmental and economic benefits.
A collective success serving sustainable redevelopment
Many thanks to EPF Hauts-de-France for its trust and to ANTEA Group for its support throughout the project.
Congratulations to Gaëtan Thibaut, Brian Limoge, and all team members for delivering this project safely and in line with Energipole Remediation’s commitments:
- Pollution reduction at source
- CO₂ emissions reduction
- Sustainable land regeneration
