Waterway transport supporting ecological transition
In 2024, the Verdipole Santes platform, operated by Energipole Remediation, confirmed its role as a benchmark for eco-efficient logistics thanks to the increased use of inland waterway transport.
Dedicated to the treatment and recovery of excavated materials, the site moved more than 20,500 tonnes of materials by barge — an exemplary approach in reducing environmental impact.
A sustainable choice delivering tangible results
This volume represents:
➡️ 700 fewer lorries on the roads
➡️ Reduced road congestion and improved safety
➡️ A significant reduction in CO₂ emissions
➡️ Optimised logistics aligned with ecological transition goals
Combining performance and environmental responsibility
Beyond transport, Energipole Remediation demonstrates that it is possible to combine industrial performance with environmental stewardship.
Every initiative taken on the Santes site forms part of a wider circular-economy strategy, supporting more sustainable and resilient territories.
