ENERGISERV BELVAL has invested nearly €12 million to reorganise and rearrange the storage assigned to it under the management contract for finished product storage and customer shipments at the Arcelor Mittal Belval site in Luxembourg, initiated in July 2019.
This investment also includes the design and commissioning of two rubber tyre gantry cranes and a gantry crane on rails specifically designed to handle sheet piles. With its 44m wide wheelbase and its highest point at 18m, the first gantry crane on rails largely dominates all the other bridge cranes on the site. A real structural jewel of 170 tonnes with a capacity of 24 tonnes under a lifting beam, it allows trucks to be loaded in a single manoeuvre and can be controlled from the cabin or remotely by radio control. A second gantry crane on rails will be delivered by summer 2021, ENERGISERV BELVAL is thus continuing the development of ‘no touch’ tools to increase the safety and production performance of its customer.
